The Buckeyes had very little trouble dispatching Jackson State. That allowed a number of young Buckeyes to see extensive action. Below are the milestones of note resulting from the win.

TEAM

• The win was the 25th-consecutive victory at home for Ohio State, dating back to a 66-55 win over Michigan Feb. 27, 2010. It’s the fourth-longest streak in Buckeye history.
• This was the first ever meeting between Ohio State and Jackson State. The Buckeyes improve to 4-0 all-time vs. members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The most recent meeting between the Buckeyes and a SWAC team took place at the start of the 2009-10 season when Alcorn State fell to No. 16 Ohio State, 100-60.
• As a ranked team Ohio State is 398-108 overall and when ranked in the AP Top 10, the Buckeyes are 277-59.
• When ranked in the Top 3 of the Associated Press, Ohio State is 134-20.
• As the AP No. 3 ranked team in the nation, Ohio State improved to 29-6 overall.
• Since the 2009-10 season, the Buckeyes are 40-1 at Value City Arena.
• The win vs. Jackson State was the 101st win vs. an unranked opponent in Value City Arena.
• The Buckeyes own a 107-2 record vs. unranked opponents at home since 2004-05.
• Ohio State has won 98 of its last 99 games against unranked teams in Columbus.
• Against non-conference opponents, Ohio State is 83-5 (.941) at Value City Arena and 145-23 overall.
• In their last 56 games, the Scarlet and Gray are 51-5.
• The 44 point margin-of-victory is the largest of the season and biggest since 12/27/10, when Ohio State def. UT Martin 100-40.
• This is the 265th-consecutive game Ohio State has made at least one 3-point field goal (1/10/04 vs. Penn State was the last game with zero made).
• Ohio State has held its opponent to under 67 points in 11 of its last 12 games, posting a 10-1 record in those contests.
• Ohio State has now had a player record a double-double in 825 games. The Buckeyes are 566-259 in those contests. Jared Sullinger had his 19th career double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds) vs. Jackson State.
• The Buckeyes tallied 15 steals as a team for the first time since the 2006 season vs. Eastern Kentucky.

 THAD MATTA

• Matta improved his career record to 295-88 overall and 193-57 at Ohio State.
• With the win, Ohio State is 35-5 in November under Coach Matta.
• Matta is now 1-0 vs. Jackson State and 2-0 vs. members of the SWAC.
• Matta is now 161-20 overall vs. unranked opponents and 107-2 in Columbus.
• Matta is now 95-18 all-time in games against non-conference opponents at Ohio State.
• Ohio State is now 126-23 (.843) overall at Value City Arena and 122-10 under Matta.
• Ohio State improves to 113-17 under Matta when grabbing more rebounds than its opponent. The Buckeyes outrebounded Jackson State 48-27.
• The Buckeyes are 161-20 under Matta when leading at the half.
• Ohio State is 178-5 under Matta when leading with five minutes to play.
• When shooting better than the opponent, Ohio State improves to 170-18 under Matta.
• With 85 points, the Buckeyes are 131-11 under Matta when scoring more than 70 total points in a game.
• The Buckeyes improve to 163-45 when limiting themselves to under 15 total turnovers (Ohio State had 12 turnovers vs. the Tigers).
• The Buckeyes had 10 players score in the first half.
• Up to the 1:54 mark in the first half, the Buckeyes had gone on a 32-4 run. 

WILLIAM BUFORD

• The start was Buford’s 101st donning the Scarlet and Gray.
• Buford scored 11 points for the Buckeyes, improving his career total to 1,469, passing David Lighty (1,458) for sole possession of 19th-place all-time in Ohio State career scoring. He is 17 behind Jerry Francis (1,486) for 18th-place all-time.

JARED SULLINGER

• Sullinger had 20 points for the Buckeyes. It is the 37th time he has scored in double figures in his career and 11th time he has scored at least 20 in a game.
• With 20 points and 11 rebounds, Sullinger earned his 19th career double-double (he had 16 points, 10 rebounds at the half).
• Sullinger had 11 rebounds to break the 400 mark for his career. He now his 403 as a Buckeye.

AARON CRAFT

• Craft had five steals. It is the 14th time in his career he has had at least three in a game. He has 85 for his career.
• Craft had four assists to push his career total to 191.

EVAN RAVENEL

• Ravenel’s three assists are a career high.

LENZELLE SMITH, JR.

• Smith, Jr.’s three assists are a career high.

SHANNON SCOTT

• Scott’s game-high six assists were a career high.
• Scott’s three steals were a career high.

JORDAN SIBERT

• Sibert’s two made 3-point field goals are a career high.
• Sibert’s 11 points tied a career-high (UNC-Wilmington, 11/20/10).

DESHAUN THOMAS

• Thomas had 11 points. It is the 13th time in his career he has scored in double figures.

SAM THOMPSON

• Thompson’s six points are a career high.

J.D. WEATHERSPOON

• Weatherspoon’s eight points were a career high.

AMIR WILLIAMS

• Williams’ five points are a career high.
• Williams’ seven rebounds were a career high.
