Two Buckeyes Earn Weekly League Accolades

Lavender breaks the record for all-time Big Ten Player of the Week honors after she became Ohio State’s career scoring leader and set a new NCAA mark with 126 straight games with 10 or more points. Now with 18 weekly conference honors, Lavender averaged 25 points per game last week in breaking Katie Smith’s Buckeye record of 2,587 career tallies. With 29 points against Minnesota on Sunday, she broke the national record for consecutive games in double-figures. In two wins last week, she also averaged 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.

Freshman of the Week:
Ashley Adams, Ohio State
6-5, C, Siloam Springs, Ark./Siloam Springs
Adams wins her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after posting averages of 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 2.5 assists in a pair of Ohio State wins last week. Her highlight game of the week came Sunday against Minnesota, where she finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, contributing six blocks and four steals in a seven-point OSU win. Against Purdue on Thursday, Adams finished with 10 points, also adding six rebounds and three swats.
