Turner Earns Sixth Big Ten Player of the Week Honor

The conference office announced on Monday the 16th weekly men’s basketball award for games played February 15-21. Ohio State's Evan Turner collected his sixth Player of the Week laurel on the season, and his ninth overall.

the field and went 14-of-20 (.700) from the foul line while adding three steals in 80 minutes of action. The weekend slate marked Turner’s seventh and eighth contests against ranked opponents this season. The Buckeyes are 5-3 in those games with Turner averaging 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds. Turner began the week by posting 29 points and seven rebounds against Purdue before following that performance with 20 points and 10 boards in a road win against the Spartans. The Chicago native now has 1,314 points and 602 rebounds in his career, ranked No. 23 and No. 17 on Ohio State’s all-time scoring and rebounding lists, respectively. Sunday also marked Turner’s 22nd career game with 20 or more points as well as his 23rd career double-double. Overall, Turner leads the conference in scoring (19.5 ppg.) and rebounding (9.3 rpg.) while also rating second in assists (5.77 apg.).
