Buckeyes Sweep Through Spring Trip
By John Porentas The Ohio State baseball team had a great time down in Florida during spring break, and we don't mean like in the movie.
The Buckeyes traveled to Bradenton, Florida this spring and played eight games. All of them ended up in the win column for the Buckeyes as they went undefeated on their trip and moved their season record to 12-4. While in Florida OSU defeated Northern Iowa, Bucknell, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Illinois-Chicago, Vermont, Cornell (2) and Dartmouth (2).
The last time the Buckeyes went undefeated on its spring trip was in 2001, when they went 10-0 in games in Bradenton. That year was the last time Ohio State won the Big Ten regular-season championship. OSU has finished second each of the last three years, winning the conference tournament championship in 2002 and 2003.
The Buckeyes raised their team batting average from .285 to .303 during the eight-game trip.
